The holiday courses for this summer term saw some very diverse weather indeed. With nearly 100 children taking part in the first two weeks they all took it in their stride and still enjoyed the days.

The courses on offer in the first two weeks included the Fun-day course.
For this course we had fun games where the players taking part learned new skills through fun games in the morning. After lunch they were put into equal teams and we had a mini tournament with them playing against each other. We also held Goalkeeping days where the budding goalies of the future were taught the basic techniques in what is needed from a goalie, especially ball handling! The players all enjoyed this course as they had all come to learn new skills and all enjoyed the matches at the end.

Also included this holiday was a different type of course, called the Tournament Day. On this course the players were put into teams as soon as the warm-up was finished and played football matches all day. Each team was given points for every game they won with a final match at the end.

So far this summer the Community Programme has held courses at Caroline Chisholm, Bugbrooke Community Primary School, Daventry Sports Park, Guilsborough School and Hartwell Primary School.

At the end of each course a player was selected for being the most helpful, displaying the best attitude and a professional manner. All participants received a Northampton Town FC Community Programme gift pack and ticket vouchers to be redeemed against any Coca-Cola Football League One non gold game home fixture.
