HOMELESS TRIALS AND YOUTH CLUB FOR DISABLED YOUTHS
Homeless trials
The Football in the Community scheme, along with Vince Carrol of the Bridge Agency has been to coach players who have suffered from problems with substance misuse. There have been coaching sessions at Links Forum twice a week for several weeks. Many of the players qualified for trials for the homeless world cup and were invited for those trials at Charlton Athletic. Russell Lewis and Vince took some of the players to Charlton were they were put through their places by coaches from the Big Issue, over 60 players took part and three of them were from Northampton Town.
The next trials were at Manchester United's Training Ground and again the three players from Northampton were invited back for further trials in April. Vince and the players were guests of the Cobblers at the Swansea match.
