WAITROSE FOOD & HOME RUSHDEN BACKING THE COBBLERS
Waitrose Home & Food Rushden are delighted to be the sponsors of Northampton Town Under 9's new-look football kit.
Waitrose Rushden Branch Manager, Mark Daws, said, "We're dedicated to being an active member of the community in which we serve so it's great that we have been given the opportunity to support a local team. We look forward to following their progress this year."
Also, in support of the local community, Waitrose Food & Home Rushden has just launched a new scheme called 'Community Matters', allowing customers to join them in deciding which local causes should receive a share of the branch's £12,000 annual donations. Each month, three local causes are selected to receive a share of £1,000.
At the checkout, shoppers receive a green 'Community Matters' token which they then place in the box at the exit of the store of the cause they would most like to support. The more nominations a cause gets, the greater the share of the £1,000 donation they will receive.
This month, customers can vote for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, Serve - a charity providing help to the elderly or Headways East Northants who support people with head injuries.
Customers can also participate by filling in a 'Waitrose Community Matters' leaflet with the name of a cause they would like to see supported in the coming months - all types of causes such as senior citizen homes, local schools and youth projects can benefit from the scheme.
Mark added: "Community Matters' is a fantastic initiative that will make a huge difference to a lot of people in the area. As a team we're very proud to be working on such a worthwhile scheme and we're hoping to see lots of nominations from our customers in the coming months."
Head of Youth at Northampton Town, Geoff Harrop added, "We are absolutely delighted with the sponsorship and that such a prestigious local company has supported the Youth Development Programme at Northampton Town Football Club. We are sure that this is the start of an excellent relationship between Waitrose Rushden and Northampton Town Football Club."
