Zander Diamond came back into the Cobblers side for the Good Friday trip to Wycombe with Leon McSweeney moving to right wing-back. Chris Hackett dropped to the bench where he was joined by the fit again Mathias Kouo-Doumbe.

Both teams started the game on 46 points with Wycombe only above the Cobblers and out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Town, backed by a terrific away support of around 2,300 travelling fans, had the lead on 11 minutes when a swirling cross from Ricky Ravenhill was dropped over the line by the Wycombe goalkeeper Matt Ingram under pressure from Emile Sinclair.

Alan Connell then went close to adding a second but his dipping shot went just over the crossbar.

Aaron Pierre equalised for the home side on 18 minutes, heading home from a Matt Bloomfield free-kick.

Ingram saved a Connell free-kick before from the ensuing corner John Marquis picked up a harsh looking yellow card.

The Cobblers started the second half on the front foot but on 51 minutes were saved by the woodwork when Jo Kuffour's looping header came back off the crossbar.

Connell fired a shot into the side netting on 68 minutes before Matt McClure flashed a header just wide from a Wanderers corner. Chris Wilder then made a double change with Chris Hackett and Brennan Dickenson coming on for Connell and Sinclair.

An enforced substitution followed with Zander Diamond leaving the field on a stretcher following a lengthy stoppage in play. Mathias Kouo-Doumbe the player to come on.

A deflected shot from Ravenhill was comfortably claimed by Ingram before the fourth official signalled ten minutes of stoppage time.

Nine minutes into injury time Wycombe had a goal disallowed for off-side after Matt Duke saved a Max Kretzschmar free-kick and the points were shared.
