Midfielder Jak McCourt is a doubt for the Cobblers midweek game at Swindon after taking a knock against Southend.

“Jak is struggling a little bit,” confirmed boss Rob Page.

“He took a bump or two on Saturday but we will leave it as late as possible before making a decision.

“We will wait and see for Tuesday but I thought he was outstanding against Southend and fingers crossed he’ll be fit."

The Cobblers boss went on to praise the contribution of John-Joe O’Toole and Alex Revell in Saturday’s 4-0 success.

“It was the perfect game for John-Joe on Saturday and I felt it was the right time to put him in.

“Thankfully he got his goal and I thought he was outstanding.

“Alex leads by example and his work rate and effort is there for everybody to see.

“He is a model professional on and off the pitch and to do what he does on the pitch you have to be fit.

“You have to earn the right to score goals and he is certainly doing that.”
