“Chris wasn’t ready to start the game at Portsmouth but he will be ready to start on Saturday,” said boss Chris Wilder.
Wilder has meanwhile confirmed that midfielder Ian Morris is set to miss the rest of the season after dislocating his knee in training on Monday.
“Ian has had his scan and as we feared it looks like he is done for the season.
“It’s a real disappointment for both the player and the club but Ian is a determined character and I’m sure he will come back from this.
“With Darren Carter out as well we’ve lost two key players in the same position which obviously isn’t ideal but it’s just something we have got to get over and deal with.
“We’ve got some versatile players in the squad and we are still looking to bring another player in.”
