All the news ahead of Rochdale v Northampton Town
Left-back Tom Newey is facing a spell on the sidelines after rolling his ankle and suffering ligament damage in Friday’s game at Cambridge.
“Tom has got some ligament damage and he’s going to be out for three to four weeks,” confirmed boss Chris Wilder.
“He tried to carry on but unfortunately he couldn’t and he had to come off. It’s another blow for us because Tom has been excellent and he’s been that man footballer for us that we’ve talked about.
“He’s here until the start of January and it’s just unfortunate that he will miss the next few games because he’s come here to play.
“Injuries have hampered us all the way through this season and they continue to do so but when someone rolls their ankle in a game there is nothing really you can do about that.
“Lawson D’Ath could be back towards the end of the week and if not then definitely for the Southend game. Evan Horwood and Lewis Hornby are back in light training but they are still a few weeks away from being considered.”
