Cobblers boss Rob Page praised the determination of his side after Tuesday night’s goalless draw at Oldham, but stressed the need to be more ruthless in front of goal.
“It’s another point on the road but I was more pleased with the game on Saturday,” he said.
"There are aspects of the game that we need to work on and our decision making on the ball needs to be better.
“Our final pass needed to be better tonight and when you go away from home you need to be ruthless.
“Defensively we were strong but we want to win games of football as well and there is work to be done.
“We are aiming to bring in a striker before the weekend and if that happens then fantastic, if not we will be patient into next week.”
