Rob Page reflects on Northampton Town 2 Walsall 0
Cobblers boss Rob Page was a very happy man as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Walsall.
“We are really pleased,” he said.
“I felt we controlled the game today, defensively we were outstanding and we thoroughly deserved the clean sheet.
“After the game a few of the players were still disappointed that they weren’t quite firing but that just shows the high standards we’ve set ourselves as a group and as individuals.
“We are playing to our strengths more now and it was a really good team performance.
“Matty Taylor was outstanding again today and he thoroughly deserved his man of the match.
“We are happy with the start we’ve made and we feel we are making progress but we’ve done nothing yet and it’s still early stages.”
