BRYOM TO MISS PLYMOUTH TRIP, JOHN-JOE RETURNS AND RICHARDS SCAN

5 March 2015

Plymouth Argyle v Northampton Town team news

The Cobblers will be without Joel Byrom for Saturday’s trip to Plymouth as the midfielder serves the first of his two-match ban for accumulated bookings.

John-Joe O’Toole will however return to the squad after completing his three-match suspension.

Chris Wilder has also confirmed that Marc Richards has undergone a scan to assess his Achilles.

“It is a bit of a worry with Marc and we will have to manage him through this period,” he said.

“His Achilles is a bit sore but he’s an experienced player and he knows his own body.

“He came through Tuesday okay which was good but with an Achilles injury you can’t be too careful because if it snaps then it’s a long-term injury.

“We lose Joel for the next two games which is of course disappointing because the partnership between Joel and Jason Taylor has been excellent but we’ve got Darren Carter to come in.

“Darren was outstanding for me last year, this season has been a bit stop start for him because of injuries earlier in the season but his attitude has been first class and with Joel’s suspension this is an opportunity for him now.”
