CHRIS WILDER WARY OF IMPROVING YORK

4 February 2016

The Cobblers boss ahead of Northampton Town v York City

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is very aware of the threat posed by a much improving York City side when the two sides meet at Sixfields on Saturday.

“We had a good run in January but the most important thing now is Saturday and keeping the run going,” he said.

“We are in a good place on and off the pitch at the moment but there are still a lot of games to go this season and a lot of points to play for.

“Alan Knill watched York last weekend and was quite impressed so we know we are in for a tough game.

“They have desire and determination and we know from our own experience that when your Football League existence is at risk that you dig a little bit deeper.

“Saturday is a bit of a free hit for York as no one will expect them to get a result but it doesn't work like that. We will need to make sure that we show all the attributes and qualities that we have done to win games this year.

“That starts with energy, commitment and desire and all we can do is look after ourselves and make sure that we take care of our own business.

“We can’t deny we are in a good position points wise but we also know that we need to nail down our games in hand.”
