Cobblers boss Chris Wilder praised his players after Saturday’s 1-0 win against Oxford United.
“It's been a bit of a hectic week but I think everybody has gone about it in the right way and the club today came together as one,” he said.
“It was a tight game but it was an outstanding effort from the players and it was an outstanding effort from the fans.
“The work rate from the team was excellent, the players kept their shape really well and they put their bodies on the line for the football club today.
“We made it difficult for the opposition and the longer the game went on the more comfortable we looked.
“It was important we got the winning feeling back, we won’t get carried away but it’s been a good day and let's enjoy it.”
