Following a number of departures in January Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is looking to add to his squad ahead of the transfer deadline on 2 February.

“I’m delighted that we’ve managed to tighten the group up but with that you still have to have competition for places,” he said.

“With Emile Sinclair and David Moyo both leaving we are maybe a bit light in the striker department and we are looking at a couple of options there.

“We’ve got a couple of weeks to bring someone in so we are in no rush but we’d like to bring a striker in who gives us something a bit different. We want someone who can stretch the game and get beyond teams.

“With the amount of injuries we’ve had we have gone over budget this season and part of my job is to make sure that we balance the books so any deal we do has to be right financially.”
