CHRIS WILDER PRAISES ATTACKING PLAY AFTER WIN OVER CHELTENHAM TOWN

18 April 2015

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Cheltenham Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Saturday’s 2-0 win against Cheltenham Town.

“We created chances in the first half without being clinical enough but in the second half we took our chances,” he said.

“I’m pleased with the clean sheet but I was a touch disappointed that we gave Cheltenham a couple of chances.

“We've talked about the need to be ruthless in both boxes, sometimes we need to be careful we don't over play, we need to mix it up and I don't think we've ever had a problem going forward.

"I thought our front four were excellent, Ivan Toney took his goal well and Marc Richards scored a fantastic goal when he came on.

"It was a great result, a really good performance and it's just a bit bitter sweet because we'd just have loved to have had Marc back a bit sooner.

"I think we are building something here and we are working hard on getting the recruitment right in the summer."
