Defender won't be fit before loan spell ends
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder has confirmed defender Shaun Brisley is likely to be out for six to eight weeks with the knee injury he picked up in Saturday’s home game against Stevenage.
“We are hopeful that Ryan Cresswell will be available for Newport but Shaun is going to be out for between six and eight weeks,” he said.
“Shaun has got some medial ligament damage in his knee which is really disappointing because he’s been superb for us in his time here.
“Losing Shaun is a blow but Rod McDonald came in on Saturday and picked up the pace of the game pretty quickly and I’ve been delighted with the way Zander Diamond and Rod have done when called upon.”
