Chris Wilder on Saturday's Maunsell Cup Final win

Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder was pleased with the performance of his team in Saturday's 3-0 win in the Maunsell Cup Final against Brackley Town.

"I think we made it look pretty comfortable," he said.

"Our thanks go to Brackley for hosting us and it was a good game played in the right spirit. I hope They go well this season, but I thought we were comfortable winners without it being a stroll. I think our attitude, work rate and professionalism made it appear fairly comfortable.

"We got another good performance under our belt and all of the players played a part. Individually and as a group we did well. We pressed the ball well and we opened Brackley up when we could. We didn't relax or rest on our laurels at any stage and we did well.

"The first half hour was a battle but we knew it would be. We had to earn the right to play and we did the horrible parts of the game well.

"We created chances all afternoon and the attitude of the players was excellent. The Derby and Birmingham games take care of themselves, we had to make sure we didn't let our standards drop on Saturday and they certainly didn't."
