LAWSON D'ATH SIGNS NEW CONTRACT WITH NORTHAMPTON TOWN

12 February 2016

Midfielder extends Sixfields stay

Northampton Town midfielder Lawson D'Ath has signed a new two and a half year contract with the club.

23 year old D'Ath signed for the Cobblers at the start of the 2014/15 season, bursting on to the scene with two goals in a Capital One Cup victory at Wolves on his debut, and has made more than 70 appearances, scoring thirteen goals.

"We are delighted to have agreed this new contract with Lawson," said manager Chris Wilder.

"He very much fits in with our style and how we want to continue to develop and progress. He is young, talented, skilful, mobile and has a fantastic attitude. He is a good age, he has developed and improved his game over the last 18 months and we are really pleased to have secured the future of a very talented player.

"Lawson has enjoyed his football here and he is an important member of the squad who feels at home in our dressing room. He has made fantastic progress, but we feel there is still more to come from him, and we are looking forward to working with him to help continue his progression and development.

“It is a sign of our progress as a club that we are able to attract and retain young players like Lawson, and this is great news for Northampton Town.”
