“Managers say it all the time but it really isn’t about the opposition and if we are at our best then we can make it a tough afternoon for Exeter,” he said.
“It’s up to us to make sure that we are at our best and we need to show that hunger and desire to get the three points and if we can do that then it will have been a good start for us.
“We’ve had a tough month with the games we’ve had and the injuries we’ve picked up but a win on Saturday would make it a decent return.
“We were disappointed with the result at Bournemouth but sometimes you just have to put your hands up and say you were beaten by the better team. I thought Bournemouth were excellent and they were everything you’d want to be.
“The cup is a bonus and it was a bonus winning at Wolves but the bigger picture is always the league.”
