MIXED FEELINGS FOR AIDY

19 October 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd had mixed feelings after the 2-2 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge.

“I was really pleased with the first 40 minutes and the character we showed in the second half but not so pleased with the result,” he said.

“For the first 40 minutes we did really well, we really limited Dagenham and we played some good attacking football which is what we want to do.

“The goal from Zavon Hines was a very good goal but we could have dealt with the danger earlier and we were a little bit lazy in our thinking.

“The second goal then came quickly when we were feeling a bit sorry for ourselves.

“To go 2-1 down and still show the character and spirit that we did in the second half was really pleasing.

“We were brave and strong and Ian Morris scored a good goal.

“We created plenty, got shots on target and as a team we just need to make sure that we keep things tight at the back.

“The supporters have been great, we are building slowly and the vast majority know that we are going in the right direction.

“Everybody knows what we are trying to do and I do see progress.

“There are lots of positive signs and like we did after drawing against Morecambe we now need to get a result on the road.”
