CHRIS WILDER ON NORTHAMPTON TOWN V BURY

26 December 2014

Chris Wilder reflects on Northampton Town v Bury

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Bury’s Boxing Day visit to Sixfields.

“It’s tough times at the moment, it’s another loss and we can’t get away from that,” he said.

“We started the game well but the goal we conceded just before half-time was another really poor one and we’ve given ourselves another mountain to climb.

“We showed good spirit in the second half but we were chasing the game. It was another tight game but Bury made better decisions.

“I’ve spoken to Ivan Toney about the sending off and he’s told me he was just trying to get up and for me the referee could have maybe just stepped back and given two yellow cards.

“I believe that the players are better than they are showing but we’ve got to stop these losses.

“You always look for fighting spirit in tough times and we’ve got that but we’ve got to dig in through this period, stick together and get a result from somewhere.”
