Chris Wilder on the pre-season campaign
Chris Wilder has declared himself pleased with Northampton Town's pre-season campaign.
The Cobblers rounded off pre-season with a 3-0 win at Sheffield on Friday, a result that Wilder said wasn't easily achieved.
"Friday was physically and mentally our toughest game," he admitted.
"Sheffield caused us some problems that we hadn't experienced in pre-season and we were off the pace in the first half.
"They sat a lot deeper than most of the teams we had played and it was good to be tested against that. We changed our tactics at half time and it worked.
"We need to be flexible through the season to overcome problems that opposition teams may cause us and to try and get results and we did that in the second half.
"We started the game slowly on Friday but we found a way to win and to be dominant and it was comfortable late on.
"We've had a really good pre-season. We picked up the odd injury here and there and a few niggles but generally I have been really pleased. The attitude has been outstanding and performance and result wise we have done well."
