Left-back Evan Horwood could come back into the Cobblers side at AFC Wimbledon on Good Friday.
Diego De Girolamo and Ross Perry are also set to return to the squad but Tom Newey could miss out.
“Evan has got a chance,” said boss Chris Wilder.
“We will finalise the squad after training on Thursday but if Evan is fit then he will play.
“Diego and Ross should both be okay but Tom will most probably miss out.
“Tom has battled through the last two or three games without being fit which he is happy to do for the team but he needs to do himself justice as well.
“Marc Richards is out of his protective boot now but with an Achilles injury there is a set time stipulated for recovery.
“I’m sure he will be eyeing up the games at the end of the season and it will be a massive boost for us when we get him back.”
