Zander Diamond remains a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Accrington after missing the midweek Capital One Cup tie at Newcastle.
Josh Lelan is meanwhile back in contention after serving a one-match ban following his sending off against Plymouth.
“We are still waiting on Zander,” said Town assistant manager Alan Knill.
“He picked up a dead leg on Saturday and he had a reaction to that after training on Monday which is why he missed the Newcastle game.
“Ricky Holmes is still struggling with his back and I’d say he is doubtful for Accrington but he’s not too far away.
“I don’t think it’s a deep rooted problem with Ricky and hopefully he will be back next week if he doesn’t make Saturday.
“Brendan Moloney has upped his work load this week which is positive but with Brendan and Evan Horwood it is a slow process.”
