The Cobblers assistant boss on Accrington Stanley v Northampton Town
Cobblers assistant boss Alan Knill previews this Saturday’s trip to Accrington.
“You know what’s coming when you go to Accrington and the first thing we will need to do is compete,” he said.
“If you don’t compete at Accrington then you usually get beaten and there are better teams than us who have been there and gotten turned over.
“John Coleman’s sides are always competitive and you know when you turn up at Accrington that you are in for a tough game.
“We believe that we have the players to beat anybody in this league and that we have the technical ability to hurt teams but first we need to compete.
“It is up to the players to get themselves in the right frame of mind and it all comes down to attitude.
“I don’t think that will be a problem for this squad, the majority of them have been playing at this level for a long time and they know what to expect.
“We said after the Newcastle game that it was a good night out for us but the bread and butter is the league and Accrington away is a really tough game for us.”
