CHRIS WILDER ON ACCRINGTON STANLEY LOSS

20 September 2014

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Accrington Stanley

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was far from happy as he reflected on Saturday’s home defeat to Accrington.

“We took the plaudits on Tuesday night and today we have to take the criticism,” he said.

“Accrington deserved their victory but we conceded some really poor goals which were down to individual errors.

“The manner and the timing of the goals was the really disappointing thing and if you defend like we did today then you can’t expect to get anything.

“We are not going to achieve what we want to achieve if we concede five goals at home and we can’t be this yo-yo side that we seem to be at the moment.

“We have to get over this pretty quickly, I will make the relevant changes that need to be made and we certainly need to sort ourselves out defensively if we are going to kick on.”
