Cobblers boss previews pre-season visit of QPR

Rob Page is looking forward to his first game at Sixfields as the Cobblers prepare to take on QPR.

“It’s the first home game for me personally and it’s a great opportunity for the lads to play against a top club in QPR,” he said.

“I am still learning about the players every day and we need to learn from the mistakes we’ve made.

“It’s important that we get into the habit of doing the right things.

“This football club at the minute is not used to losing games of football but what’s more important to me than results in pre-season is people doing the right things on the football pitch.

“We picked up a couple of little niggles on Saturday and Alfie Potter is going to be out for a couple of weeks with a muscle tear. It’s not as bad as we first thought but we need to be careful with him.

“The main objective of pre-season is to get everybody ready to go come the 6th of August, we want to give players time on the pitch but we don’t want to run the risk of prolonging any little niggling injuries.”
