Work out for a number of players in behind closed doors game
Northampton Town's reserves beat Peterborough United 4-2 in a behind closed doors friendly on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cobblers side included David Cornell, Raheem Hanley, Rod McDonald, Joel Byrom, Lawson D'Ath and Emmanuel Sonupe along with a number of players from the youth team.
Joe Iaciofano put the Cobblers ahead in the first half, and the youth team striker doubled the lead with his second goal after the break. Emmanuel Sonupe then added a third, before the home side pulled a goal back. Youth teamer Ethan Lamptey made it 4-1 before the Posh scored a late penalty.
Assistant manager Paul Wilkinson was pleased with the work out.
"It was a really good exercise and both the senior boys and the younger lads applied themselves really well," he said.
"We gave Raheem Hanley 70 minutes and all of the other senior players got 90 minutes and they all came through well. It was a good exercise for us in hot conditions and I was very pleased with the attitude and effort shown by all of the lads involved."
