EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division action
Northampton Town's youth team suffered a 3-0 defeat at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday in their penultimate EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division fixture of the 2016/17 season.
“Individual errors cost us,” said Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Lyons.
“Bournemouth are undoubtedly the best team in this league and they have got some very good players individually. Overall I’m not too disappointed with our performance we just paid the price for lapses in concentration.
“We worked hard and there were some positive signs but the players need to understand that if they want to fulfill a career in professional football you can’t switch off at any point and their focus and concentration levels need to be better.”
