EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division action
Northampton Town's youth team travelled to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division game.
Lewis Irwin scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win for the Cobblers with James Gillard also on target.
“We started well and deserved to take the lead,” said Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Lyons.
“Our standards dropped towards the end of the first half and we were behind at half-time.
“The lads showed good spirit and character to turn things around in the second half and take control of the game. It was a solid professional performance against a good Dagenham side.”
