EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division action
Northampton Town's under 18s travelled to Cheltenham Town on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division game.
The Cobblers were beaten 4-1 with Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Lyons disappointed with the display.
“It was a very disappointing performance,” he said.
“We gave Cheltenham too much room to play and unfortunately the first half cost us.
“We improved slightly in the second half but the game was gone by then. This football club has set high standards and the players need to understand that.”
Ben Toseland scored the Cobblers goal.
