EFL Youth Alliance action
The Northampton Town under 18s played Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday in the EFL Youth Alliance.
Despite goals from Ethan Lamptey, Joe Iaciofano and Lewis Irwin the Cobblers were beaten 4-3 with Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Lyons not happy with the defending of his side.
“Defensively we have got loads to work on,” he said.
“We showed good character to come back from 3-1 to get it back to 3-3 but we then conceded a really sloppy goal.
“I felt we deserved something from the game but defensively we have to do much, much better.”
