SUCCESSFUL FIRST MEETING FOR SUPPORTERS ADVISORY PANEL

21 October 2016

Initial meeting took place at Sixfields on Thursday

On Thursday night at Sixfields, the initial meeting took place of the new Northampton Town Supporters Advisory Panel.

The panel was formed as part of the club's commitment under their recently published Supporters Engagement Charter to engage with and listen to the views and opinions of supporters.

The initial meeting was very well attended, much to the delight of club Chairman Kelvin Thomas.

"We felt this was a really positive first meeting," he said.

"There were a lot of supporters here, and more importantly there was a good cross section of the fanbase represented.

"We covered a lot of positive points, and also discussed the structure of future get togethers.

“One idea that came out of the night was for a few suggestions boxes at the ground for additional feedback opportunities, which the club will be introducing.

"The Panel discussed the issue of Safe Standing at length and the Safe Standing Group will be working with the club and the Supporters Trust to survey supporters about their views on safe standing and we look forward to seeing further opinion in due course.

"We also held a discussion around the EFL's Whole Game Solution proposals and decided to continue these discussions when more information was available from the EFL.

"I would like to personally thank everyone who attended for their time and their input and the evening was a definite win for supporter engagement."

Details of the next meeting will be announced in due course, and any interested supporters are welcome to attend.
