Players supporting Ryan's Transplant Journey and club's own community scheme
Recently, Katy Kurn from Nationwide Building Society organised and hosted a charity curry night at the Royal Bengal restaurant in Northampton. Katy was supported with the organisation of the event by Lisa Hust from Northampton Town Football Club.
The event was to raise money for two great causes. Ryan's Transplant Journey, supporting a local boy from Hopping Hill Primary School who has undergone treatment for leukaemia and is a big Cobblers supporter. The second cause was the Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust and their aim is to deliver good quality community sports programmes, delivering Government strategy to improve the health and wellbeing of the whole community. This was the launch event to kick start a year of fundraising and volunteering that Katy is taking on for the club's Community Trust.
The night was filled with good food, Bollywood dancing and games. Guests included Nationwide employees, Hopping Hill Primary school teachers and parents, family, friends and Northampton Town Football Club staff. Eight of the Cobblers players also kindly came along to support the event. £1340 was raised, a fantastic amount to launch Katy's fundraising challenge.
More events are planned throughout the rest of the season, so if you'd like to know more, please contact Katy Kurn at katyek@hotmail.co.uk
