NORTHAMPTON TOWN SIGN DEFENDER NEAL EARDLEY

12 January 2017

Right back signs Sixfields deal

Northampton Town have signed defender Neal Eardley on a deal to the end of the season.

The 28 year old, who mainly operates at right back, started his career at Oldham Athletic in 2006, playing more than 100 times. He also made more than a century of appearances for his next club Blackpool, thirty one of which came during the Seasiders season in the Premier League.

After leaving Blackpool in 2013 he joined Birmingham City for three years and has spent the first half of this season north of the border with Hibernian.

Eardley has also won 16 senior caps for Wales.

Chief Executive James Whiting said, “With Brendan Moloney and Aaron Phillips currently unavailable through injury and Paul Anderson also sustaining an injury last weekend it become a priority to sign a right back ahead of this weekend’s game.”

This move is subject to international clearance.
