JUSTIN EDINBURGH DELIGHTED WITH PROGRESS MADE IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS

Cobblers boss praises players for upturn in form

Cobblers boss Justin Edinburgh has been delighted with the progress made in his first few weeks in charge at Sixfields but acknowledges there is plenty more work to do.

The Cobblers have won three and drawn one of their last five games, and Edinburgh has been quick to praise his players.

“So far, so good but there is still a lot of work to be done," he said.

“Results have lifted the pressure and slowly but gradually the players have taken on board what we have asked of them. They have been able to overcome the nerves and the disappointment of being on a bad run and full credit to them.

“I’ve been really pleased with the reaction I’ve had from the players over the last few weeks, everyone in and around the club has been fully supportive and the fans have played a part as well.

“I feel that there is a lot more belief in the players now and you can feel a bit more optimism around the place.

“Winning games is what it is all about and everybody is fully focussed and committed to the challenge.”
