Josh Lelan continued at right-back for the Cobblers trip to Yeovil with Brendan Moloney still struggling with a knee injury.
Yeovil took the lead on 6 minutes, Harry Cornick with the final touch after a shot took a deflection as Town half cleared a free kick.
Sam Hoskins headed straight at Artur Krysiak while Rod McDonald had to be alert to block a shot from Francois Zoko.
The Cobblers were pressing for an equaliser and it duly came on 35 minutes, Nicky Adams heading in from a John Marquis knock down to cap off a fine move.
Adams curled a shot over the bar and Krysiak saved a John Marquis header as the Cobblers started the second half on the offensive.
Chris Wilder made his first change of the afternoon just before the hour mark, Alfie Potter coming on for Hoskins.
Liam Walsh went close with a free-kick while Adams couldn’t quite convert a volley after another well-worked Cobblers move.
Lawson D’Ath replaced Adams in the Cobblers third and final change with James Collins having come on for Marquis.
The Cobblers pressed for a winner in stoppage time but the game was to end all-square.
