Emile Sinclair, Darren Carter and John-Joe O’Toole all came into the side for the FA Cup first round replay at Rochdale while Gregor Robertson replaced Tom Newey (ankle) at left-back.

The Cobblers had the lead early on, Ivan Toney getting on the end of a Carter free-kick.

As the Cobblers continued to create the better chances, Carter sent a free-kick just over the bar while Marc Richards drew a good save from Conrad Logan.

Rochdale then started to come into the game, Jordan Archer saving a Michael Rose set-piece before Rhys Bennett fired over.

Jack Muldoon shot straight at Archer on 52 minutes before Reuben Noble-Lazarus came on for Dale.

Kelvin Langmead replaced Ryan Cresswell midway through the second half following a fragmented period of play. Soon after Joel Byrom then came on for Emile Sinclair in the Cobblers second change.

Jamie Allen saw a header clip the Cobblers crossbar on 76 minutes with Langmead on hand to clear the ball off the goal line.

The home side had been threatening and on 85 minutes were back on level terms, Reuben Noble-Lazarus with a good finish from just inside the area.

Rochdale then won it deep into stoppage time, Oliver Lancashire heading home to send the League One side through to round two.
