Boss Aidy Boothroyd made two changes to the side with Luke Guttridge and Lewis Hornby replacing John Johnson and Jake Robinson, Ben Tozer moving to right-back. Lewis Wilson was among the substitutes after returning from his loan spell at Bishops Stortford.

The Cobblers started brightly with Adebayo Akinfenwa seeing an early header saved by Matt Ingram. A terrific cross from Chris Hackett found it's way to Roy O'Donovan who shot into the side netting.

Wycombe's first real attempt on goal came on 20 minutes, Lee Nicholls punching away a shot from Joel Grant. Ben Harding, playing against one of his former clubs, picked up a yellow card on 36 minutes for persistent infringement.

The deadlock was nearly broken on 49 minutes when from a Chris Hackett cross Adebayo Akinfenwa thudded a header against the crossbar with Ingram beaten. Ben Tozer then saw a shot deflected behind.

Clarke Carlisle had a header well saved by Ingram as the Cobblers really starting to ramp up the pressure on the Wycombe goal.

John Johnson came on for Joe Widdowson in the Cobblers first change. Lewis Hornby then made way for David Moyo.

Akinfenwa outmuscled his defender in stoppage time but his header was straight at Ingram as the game ended goalless.
