Boss Aidy Boothroyd made one change to the side that had beaten Exeter in the previous game with Kemar Roofe coming in for Ishmel Demontagnac. Dutch legend and former Champions League winner Edgar Davids started for Barnet.

With 10 minutes on the clock, an Emyr Huws free-kick from 25-yards went just wide. At the other end, Lee Nicholls did well to tip over a John Oster free-kick.

Edgar Davids was booked on 14 minutes, the former Juventus midfielder shown a yellow card for persistent infringement. Chris Hackett then had his name taken for a foul on Anthony Edgar.

A neat lay off from Clive Platt on 25 minutes set up Alex Nicholls who couldn't quite direct his shot on target. A minute later and the Cobblers had strong appeals for a penalty turned down following a challenge on Kemar Roofe.

On the half hour mark a downward header from Platt was well saved by Graham Stack. Clovis Kamdjo joined Davids in the referee's notebook after bringing down Huws.

Emyr Huws played in Alex Nicholls at the start of the second half but Graham Stack did well to get the ball away before Nicholls could unleash a shot.

The Cobblers were forced into making a change on 53 minutes, Lewis Wilson coming on for Chris Hackett.

Lee Nicholls made a superb save to deny Anthony Edgar from 12-yards on 56 minutes before Barnet took the lead from the resultant corner, Krystian Pearce heading in John Oster's set-piece.

Andy Yiadom doubled the Bees lead on 65 minutes with a drilled effort from inside the area after the Town defence failed to clear. Henoc Mukendi then replaced Clive Platt in the Cobblers second change.

Ishmel Demontagnac entered the action on 73 minutes with Kemar Roofe the player to make way.

John Oster added a third for Barnet as the game reached stoppage time, firing in a shot from the edge of the area.

Anthony Edgar scored a fourth deep into injury time to round off a miserable night for the Cobblers.
