Ben Tozer and Danny East both came into the side with Ben Harding (ankle) ruled out and John Johnson dropping to the bench. Clive Platt was rested due to a troublesome Achilles.

The games first real shot on target didn’t arrive until the 19th minute, Lee Nicholls saving a shot from Craig Westcarr.

Richard O'Donnell saved a low shot from Alex Nicholls on 40 minutes as the Cobblers tried to carve an opening.

Jack Lester then rattled the Cobblers crossbar as the first half ended with the score deadlocked at 0-0.

The second half started in much the same way as the first with defences on top.

The game although very much still in the balance badly needed a spark and with just under 15 minutes to go both sides made a change, Louis Moult on for Ishmel Demontagnac and Danny Whitaker replacing Jack Lester.

As the Cobblers looked to pile on the pressure in the closing stages, Kelvin Langmead saw a header saved at point blank range while Luke Guttridge fired just wide.

Neither side could force an opening though as the game ended goalless.
