Louis is new addition
Northampton Town have signed striker Louis Moult on a one-year deal.
Moult, 20, has been training with the club for the past few weeks after being released by Stoke City at the end of last season.
A prolific goalscorer in the Potters academy and reserve side he made his professional debut as a substitute against Leyton Orient in August 2009.
With first-team opportunities somewhat limited at the Britannia Stadium Moult has spent time on loan at Bradford City, Mansfield Town (twice) and Accrington Stanley.
“This is a good chance for Louis and it’s up to him now to take it,” said boss Aidy Boothroyd.
“He was a bit of a child star who has lost his way a little bit which can happen at big clubs.
“He’s done well in training and he’s shown enough for us to give him a chance and invest in him.
“He’s a goalscorer, his touch is good and his movement is excellent.”
