Midfielder leaves Northampton Town
Northampton Town midfielder Joel Byrom has left the club after having his contract terminated.
The 30 year old midfielder arrived at Sixfields in 2014, and in two and a half years he made 81 starts and six substitute appearances in the claret and white.
Byrom has found his first team opportunities more limited in 2016, starting only six league games after early February as the Cobblers won the League 2 title and then adjusted to life in League 1.
“It is in the best interests of all parties that Joel moves on,” said manager Rob Page.
“He is a first class professional but at this stage of his career he needs to be playing games.”
